For plant lovers, by a plant lover
Daley Spence
Plantastic by Daley is a handcrafted store selling trellises, stakes, unique plant décor and everything you need for all your indoorplants. We started making our handmade trellises and stakes for my own love of craft and plants, but when friends kept asking for me to make trellises for them I realised I wasn't the only one who loved quirky bling for my plants. The business has grown from strength to strength (no pun intended !! ) since.
Spider mites are tough to spot with the naked eye, which allows them to spread quickly before you notice. They use their piercing-sucking mouthparts to feed on sap from plant cells on the underside of leaves and eventually kill the plant. Large infestations will cause visible damage to your plants. Signs you have spider mites are patterns of tiny yellow spots or stipplings, leaves may change colour, curl, and tight webs that are formed under leaves and along stems.
One of the best ways to protect your plants is to check them regularly. There is a number of things you can do to prevent an outbreak of spider mites.
1.always clean and isolate any new plants for a minimum of 2 weeks before you add them to your collection. Pests can enter your home on your pets, people, the wind and especially on plants. If you bring an infested plant into your home without realising you can quickly have a outbreak.
2. Regular cleaning with a prevention spray like our plantasic potion. Choose one day a week or month to dedicate to plant maintenance, for example watering, repotting and cleaning your plants. Regular cleaning of your plants will help you spot things like pest, root rot, incorrect lighting conditions and dry plants in need of a drink. This will help reduce the spread of pests and keep your plant babies happy.
3. Showering your plants. Spider mites are very small and light If you shower or hose your plants this will wash them off and help reduce an outbreak.
At Plantastic by Daley we strive to give you the best experience in online shopping when purchasing our hand crafted specialty items for your plants and garden.
